This weekend was also Taylorsville Dayzz in the good ol' home town of Taylorsville UT. I missed the parade and the carnival, but don't worry, I got there in time for the Neil Diamond impersonator and firework show! Singing along to "Forever in Blue Jeans", I sat on the lawn of Park park and soaked in the mini high school reunion that was going on around me. I found myself passing out hugs to friends that I haven't seen anywhere but Facebook in the last 4 years and thinking about how relationships morph over time. Then, as if on cue, my old high school crush was standing next to me... he's still handsome... he's still charming... but case in point. The people I still care about are still a part of my life, and I'll see all the rest of 'em in another 5 years. I DID miss Lynsie and Nathan... two of my favorite Taylorsvillians are both far far away, instead of sharing the same lawn quilt as in Taylorsville Dayzz past. The fireworks rocked my socks as they always do, and fake Neil Diamond provided a wonderfully comical sonic back drop to the nearly nostalgic scene.
